Fish List for The One Fish: Confirmed Catches, Junk, Shiny

Fish list for The One Fish (Steam EA): every confirmed catch from launch week - clownfish, bomb fish, sharks, junk pulls, shiny drops (checked Aug 14, 2026).

8/14/2026 Last updated: 8/14/2026

The One Fish has no official fish list yet: developer re:try has not published a full catalog for the Steam Early Access version that launched on August 12, 2026. This page is the working fish list for Early Access instead — every catch confirmed from official materials and launch-week player footage, with each entry tagged to its source. The official store description names only two examples, the clownfish and the bomb fish, so most entries below come from two launch-week co-op streams plus a cross-check of Steam reviews. The list will be updated whenever a patch or announcement confirms more.

Version note: this fish list was checked on August 14, 2026 against the Early Access launch build. Anything that could not be verified against a source is marked not yet confirmed.

How This List Is Verified

Every entry carries one of two source tags. Official means the Steam store description names the fish outright — today only the clownfish and the bomb fish meet that bar, because the store page uses them as its harmless-versus-explosive pair. Player-observed means the fish appeared on screen in launch-week gameplay: the 3-player Portuguese launch stream or the 4-player Turkish launch stream, the two longest launch-week recordings we could verify. Where the name comes from stream commentary rather than game text, the entry says so.

Beyond those two layers, we checked the Steam announcements feed and the official X and YouTube channels for any roster reveal — none had been published as of August 14, 2026. Steam reviews were read as a cross-check on player experience: at check time the game sat at 70 reviews with a Very Positive rating, and the reviews describe the same fish chaos the streams show. Nothing on this page is invented; numbers and effects that could not be confirmed are marked not yet confirmed.

Confirmed Fish

The entries below are the confirmed Early Access roster as of August 14, 2026 — a floor, not a ceiling, because no official total has been published. One line per fish: what is known, and where it was seen.

  • Clownfish — official. The harmless example from the Steam store description. Players in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream nicknamed it Nemo; no ability observed.
  • Bomb fish — official. The store’s explosive example. Both launch streams confirm it detonates and can wipe the whole crew if it goes off at the wrong moment.
  • Anglerfish — player-observed. Attacks players; in the 4-player Turkish launch stream it attacked and ate other fish inside the ship’s net.
  • Shark — player-observed. Attacks players and can drag a player into the sea; seen in both launch streams.
  • Tornado shark — player-observed. A shark with a tornado-style effect, called “Shark Nido” by the players in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream.
  • Swordfish / marlin — player-observed. A huge fish that is very hard to reel in, seen in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream. Whether the official name is swordfish or marlin is not yet confirmed.
  • Flying fish — player-observed. Seen in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream; no ability confirmed.
  • Seahorse — player-observed. Caught in shallow water in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream.
  • Jellyfish — player-observed. Seen on screen in both launch streams.
  • Sunfish — player-observed. Seen in the 3-player Portuguese launch stream.
  • Pink-dreams fish — player-observed. Player nickname for a pink fish that inverts your view, makes players dizzy and can trap them; the Portuguese players described the inverted view, the Turkish players the dizziness and the trap. Official name not yet confirmed.
  • Dancing fish — player-observed. Forces nearby players to dance; seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.
  • Music fish — player-observed. Plays music around itself; seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.
  • Spiny fish — player-observed. Its spikes hurt players who get too close; seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.
  • Goldfish — player-observed. A plain goldfish catch seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.
  • Skeleton — player-observed. Attacks while a player is holding it; seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.
  • Dog-balloon fish — player-observed. A dog-shaped balloon fish seen in the 4-player Turkish launch stream.

Counted together, that is seventeen confirmed catches. Treat the number as a floor: the full Early Access roster and its total are not yet confirmed by any official source.

Junk Pulls

Not everything on the end of the line is a fish. Boots, shoes and hats can all come up instead of a catch (the 3-player Portuguese launch stream and the 4-player Turkish launch stream). Whether junk pulls count toward the day’s feeding quota, or score anything at all, is not yet confirmed — neither stream makes the scoring clear.

Rarities and Shiny Fish

Rarity exists on top of the species list. Shiny variants of fish are real and extremely rare, per launch-week players: the 3-player Portuguese launch stream reports shiny catches alongside a Luffy-style straw hat that drops from a shiny fish. How shiny odds work is not yet confirmed.

The shop has a rarity upgrade that raises the chance of pulling rarer fish (the 3-player Portuguese launch stream), and the 4-player Turkish launch stream shows a Chance/Luck gamble option in the same shop. No official odds are published.

Value is separate from rarity. Players measured real per-fish values from 15 up to 1500+, with 500 and 1500 appearing as the typical high-value pulls in the 4-player Turkish launch stream. These numbers are player-measured on the launch build and can change with patches.

Rare and valuable does not mean safe: the bomb fish is the reminder that a big catch can still end the day. Before feeding anything shiny, check what its ability does — the full picture is in ability-fish, and the quota basics are in how-to-feed-the-one-fish.

What Is Still Unknown

This fish list is deliberately incomplete in places. What is still open as of August 14, 2026:

  • The full official roster and total fish count. re:try has published no catalog, so nothing beyond the entries above is confirmed.
  • Official names. Several entries — pink-dreams fish, tornado shark, “Shark Nido”, swordfish versus marlin — are what players called them on stream, not names confirmed by the developer.
  • Per-fish stats. Weight, spawn rates per biome or map, and value tables have not been published; only the player-measured value range above exists.
  • Shiny odds and rarity tiers. The rarity upgrade raises rare-fish odds per players, but no official numbers or tier labels are published.
  • Whether junk pulls count toward the quota, and how much each fish feeds The One Fish.

Steam announcements are the channel to watch. When re:try publishes a roster or names more fish, this page will be re-checked and re-tagged — expect the list above to grow through Early Access.
